An energy analysis provides useful information and data that can be applied to your facility for a specific purpose. Normally, developing an energy savings strategy is the goal and an energy audit serves that purpose. But analysis of energy use and cost may also be required for certain government filings and reports (utility allowances for HUD/RD housing, PHA utility budgets, etc.). We can help either way. An Energy Audit is a type of energy analysis designed to provide focus and direction for saving energy... an evaluation of existing energy use combined with a list of recommended measures and practices forms a cost-effective strategy for saving energy and dollars.

ASHRAE (Association of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning  Engineers) is the leading authority when it comes to commercial energy analysis  and they have defined four distinct types of energy audits: Preliminary (PEA), Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3. While an energy audit will usually fit one of these four definitions, the variations are unlimited. Choosing the right energy audit can be a difficult and confusing decision, but  your best choice will be the one that best meets your needs. You should have a  purpose in mind for using the information that an energy audit provides and make  your choice based on that purpose. We offer all four types of energy audits and  have performed hundreds... we can help you make the best choice for your  facility.

The HUD 5-Year Energy Audit is a specific type of ASHRAE Level 2 energy analysis that is required for HUD multifamily buildings once every five years. Multifamily buildings have unique characteristics and considerations; our HUD-approved audit was custom-designed precisely for this purpose.
